Good Friday: Matthew 27

JesusActsofLoveMARCH

The most radical act of love EVER is Jesus’ willingness to lie down on a wooden cross and allow soldiers to pound spikes into his hands and feet.  He did not cry out or struggle, but let that cross be hoisted up and dropped into its hole.  His pain and nakedness were exposed to all onlookers.  As the slow death process of crucifixion began, Jesus’ ribcage began to crush his lungs, causing slow suffocation.  Jesus willingly endured utter and complete separation from the Heavenly Father as he took onto himself all the sin, the darkness, and the EVIL for all times.  He did this because he loves us and wants to set us fee from sin, disease, and death.

The result of this act is beyond our comprehension.  Complete and eternal salvation because the Heavenly Father’s perfect lamb was sacrificed once and for all.  All debts paid.

The application?  FREEDOM.  Shackles of guilt, hopelessness and pain released. The OUTPOURING of divine energy, Holy Spirit power, let loose for each and everyone.  Incomprehensible LOVE made available for the asking, so that we can go forth and show the world Jesus’s radical acts of love.
