The Importance of Knowing God

Because inner-healing and deliverance ministry are the front lines of spiritual warfare, KNOWING God is imperative.  After all He is our Commander-in-Chief.  He has designed the war manual.  He has equipped us with the weapons we need. He has taught us His winning strategies. In order for us to gain and retain each victory we need to KNOW how God is operating and with what He has equipped us for the fight. The following are some specific aspects of God we need to know:1.  What did the Messiah do for us to win the victory?  This is best described in Isaiah 53 where the prophet writes “by our Lord’s stripes we are healed.”  God is our Father with whom we are in covenant, and He has promised us victory.  This knowledge is the starting block for diving into deliverance.2. What method does God use for healing and deliverance?  The Lord does our transformation “little by little.” The style He uses in deliverance is like his method for reclaiming the promise land.  As we read about Moses and Joshua leading the Israelites, day by day, tribe by tribe, bit by bit, until the victory was theirs, we learn what is God’s method for our transformation.3.  What solution does God provide when we have to deal with fears of vulnerability connected to our deliverance experience?  “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18)” God is love, and the fact that we are surrounded and filled by His love (actually, God himself!) is key to the victory.  If I, or the person I am ministering to, have any fears, or we are unaware of how much God loves us, our healing process may fail because of that fear.Knowledge and acceptance of who the Creator is, and what He has promised frees me to look at myself without fear. When the truth has set me free, I can accept all of me, light and darkness, knowing I am his workmanship (Eph.2:10).  He does not condemn me (Roms. 8:1). He gives me the victory in Christ (Col. 1:20). When I know that, I can reach out in love to the imperiled people God has placed in my path. I can enter into this ministry with confidence and authority.  If you are active in ministry, KNOWING the nature of the Almighty, and KNOWING your own identity is boot camp material. Knowing precedes acceptance.  And acceptance of who God is, what He does, and who you are as a child of the King are basic tools. The knowing and the accepting of God and Self are intertwined in a revelatory process.Be open to the Almighty and let Him reveal both Himself and yourself as you participate in this spiritual battle. In Christ, large-signature
