What Our Heavenly Father Does For Us - Adaptation of Jer 31:3b

This simple two Hebrew word verse offers multiple word pictures that bless me.  The whole verse (Jeremiah 31:3) says:  “The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing loving kindness.”My focus is only two Hebrew words: mashak checed  (pronounced  mã-shack hess-sid), usually translated drawn you with unfailing loving kindness.”  When you explore the multiple Hebrew meanings of mashak the verse explodes with a beautiful picture of our relationship with our Lord.  Here is my adaptation:Lord, in your mercy you have been very patient with me.  You have selected me as your special lamb to do life with. When I am in a pit, you draw me out.  When I am reluctant to follow you, you pull me along, like a fish in your net.You have put a gentle yoke on me, so together as a team, we spread out for the battle.  You stretch back my bow arm,  and with your hand over mine we shoot your arrow (the Word) at the enemy.Because of you, I stand tall.Because of you, kingdom seeds are sown on the path.Because of your leading me into battle,I make a loud sound on the sofar (ram’s horn) declaring your victory. And at the end of our day, you take me away as your beloved. I am so grateful, Heavenly Father for “mashak checed" In Christ,
