AT BEDTIME

How did our Lord Jesus settle down after his day,worn out from growing, knowing the Cross was on its way?He might’ve pictured daily blessings as Father’s bouquet,recalling each flower, each stone, as on his bed he lay.When he saw God’s throne, divine treasure coming his way,at that point he relaxed and let his body “hit the hay.”He pondered with which Creation gift he might like to play,and was almost falling asleep to get strength for the next day,when Jesus heard his mother’s words and her melody:“My child, Beloved, just take one day at a time.Forget not this lesson: suffering will be sublime.Come and sway with the rhythm of Eternity’s chime,and finally, into Abba’s arms, up, up you’ll climb. In Christ,
