Do I want God’s plans or my plans?

My personality is a bit impulsive, somewhat like Peter the Apostle.  I often jump into something without inquiring of the Lord, or barge ahead without listening to the Holy Spirit.  Psalm 33:10-11 warns me: “The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purpose of his heart though all generations.”When I studied these verses, my adaptation became:  “The Lord shatters my own counsel and thwarts my plans and inventions.  But the plans of the LORD are coming forth and will persist, and His purposes make our hearts beat fast with joy forever.”Try out this prayer, if you have a hard time releasing your plans to God:LORD, show me the path forward that you want for me.Moment by moment hold me by your side so I don’t dash ahead of you.  Please work in me to accept your pace.Change me so that this journey is about my being In your Presence,  not about achieving some goal, getting another task done, writing one more blog,or helping one more person.Build my trust in you so I absolutely believethe plans YOU HAVE FOR ME are for my goodand are fulfilling your purpose in me.Let your heart and my heart beat together in  joyful synchrony as we do life. In Jesus’ name.  Amen. In Christ,
