Imagine Angels having your back, a key to soul-wellness

Listen to this simple, rarely noticed, verse from Genesis 2:1  “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.”  This fact is a key to having peace within your soul.

Why?  Because “vast array” refers to the fact that multitudes of the heavenly hosts were present when Adam and Eve walked in Paradise.  The Sovereign God, the Existing One of all Creation, had an army of angels hovering, or marching, dancing, or skipping rope if you prefer, when mankind was created.

The word for “hosts” in Hebrew is tsaba (sah-vah’).  A tsaba is one of the organized army of heaven.  He is one of the massive group of angels that go forth in the service of the Creator.  A tsaba acts under God’s authority to meet your needs.

When we trust in our Sovereign God to protect, provide or empower us, let us remember He has got a vast array backing Him up, in turn giving us back up.  He uses angelic beings to communicate His will, ward off evil, and direct one on the proper path.  The Almighty sent an angel to tell Mary that the power of God would make a baby within her, the very seed that would become the Word Made Flesh and crush Satan.  When Jesus was tested in the wilderness, a forty day ordeal bookmarked by his baptism and the start of his ministry, angels took care of the Son of God’s needs. Angels released the disciples from jail. Angels are as much active today as they were at the beginning of time.

So, the next time your soul feels a little shaken up, a bit bereft, uncertain about the path, remember that your Heavenly Father has angels operating on your behalf.
