Jesus' Acts of Love: Matt. 17: 1-9

JesusActsofLoveMARCH

A simple act of the LORD’s love occurs on the mountain top.  Jesus permits Peter, James and John to be with him when He is transfigured.  “His appearance changed from the inside out. . . . sunlight poured from his face.  His clothes were filled with light. . .  Then God’s voice said, ‘This is my Son, marked by my love, focus of my delight.’”

The disciples’ experience changed their perspective on Jesus.  They had now seen a glimpse of the resurrected, glorified Lamb of God.

The result of Jesus’s profound love for these men brought about their participation in the Transfiguration.   He took them to this sacred place, permitted them to be close to the Creator Father while God poured out power out from the heavenly realms to transfigure Jesus.

How do we apply this action of Jesus in our lives?  We are privileged to have this scriptural story recorded so that we can experience, even though vicariously, the Glorified Christ.  This picture of the Heavenly Presence can change us from the inside out, as we believe ourselves to be filled with this same Being.  Christ in us, the hope of Glory, transfigured with blazing sunlight and radiant love.
