Judge Yourself
Judge yourself. The Word of God suggests we do this, even while God asks us to not judge another person. Judge yourself, so that you can detect the “wrong” you have done before your offense drives a wedge between you and God. Spot the problem before it lodges in your soul. Once you’ve “judged” yourself, breathe out that wrong doing. Confess your sin to Jesus, and you will be cleansed. Now, go one step further: Breathe in God Almighty. You will be anointed with the Holy Spirit. This step of obedience moves you deeper into the presence of God. Ephesians 5:18 commands us “to be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Don’t stop with your confession of sin and short change yourself. Go all the way with God and cry out for the Holy Spirit to FILL YOU. He has promised to pour out his Spirit on all mankind.P.S. Judging yourself is not the same as condemning yourself. Romans 8:1 says, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
