Making Healthy Choices: A Minute by Minute Challenge

A human being has been wired to make choices.  From the time of creation God has given a person free will — basically to say “yes” or “no” to God, and the Almighty’s way of doing life. I used to think that this choice was a once-in-a-lifetime choice.  Mistakingly I believed all I had to decide was whether I wanted God in my life or not.

But I have learned that to live in a healthy manner I need to be aware that choosing to do things God’s way is a moment by moment, bite-by-bite, word-by-word, step-by-step decision.   On a physical level, I can ingest something that helps my body thrive or feed myself something that has a negative drain on me.  This is true also with what I put into my brain.  Is my choice going to help me think positively and have a God-like view of a situation, or am I thinking negatively and succumbing to thoughts of darkness and untruths?

How are you at making good choices?  Are you thriving?   Or are you barely surviving?  A power source that can move you into an abundant life is the Person of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of Truth, is called the Paraclete because He falls into step beside the believer and helps him walk the way Jesus did.   Holy Spirit gives a person the mind of Christ, so he can think like Jesus and perceive the world around him the way God does.  The Spirit of God also downloads divine emotions into the believer. These are called the fruit of the Spirit.  The primary indicator of whether you are choosing things God’s way or your own way is whether the Peace of God rule in your heart.

Blessings,
