Simple: Love Jesus. Obey Jesus. See Jesus.

Do you hunger for Jesus?Do you want to spend more time,  even better time with him?Do you want to see the miracles he can do?As I was reflecting on John 14:21 this morning, looking up the deeper meaning of the words,  I believe this verse has some powerful clues for us.Jesus speaks these words to his disciples after he has served the Last Supper.  Most likely the Lord shares this powerful sentence,  as the disciples and he walked out of Jerusalem,  down into the Kidron Valley and up the steep hill into the Garden of Gesthemane.  This was the night of Jesus’ sweating blood in anguish because the end was upon him.  He said this to the people who loved him, at the same time he faced his arrest and upcoming death on a cross.Below is my adaptation, using the broader interlinear meanings of the key words in Greek.  Note that Jesus speaks the word “love”, agapao  FOUR times in that one verse.  That repetition of the word, LOVE, is our basic clue on who to build intimacy with Jesus.NASB:  She who has (echō) my commandments (entolē) and keeps (tēreō) them is the one who loves (agapaō) me and she who loves me will be loved by my Father and I myself will love her and will disclose (emphanizō)  Myself to her.Adaptation John 14:21:  Jesus speaking:When you wear my commands close to you, when you cling to my authoritative prescriptions on how to live, when you bind them onto youso that they echo in your heart and mind, then you will be loving me.This agapao love is a mixture of commitment in the mind and passion in the heart.  When you love me with your sold-out mind and whole heart, the Heavenly Father and I, myself, will love you back with our laser-sharp mind and zealous heart. When this kind of love relationship is happening, we will be disclosing ourselves to you.  That means, we will come into your plain view.We will emphasize our entire being in you and around you,and we will lavish proofs of our saving grace on you. In simple terms, loving Jesus means obeying him.Obeying Jesus means experiencing him intimately.ENJOY HIM!He enjoys you. In Christ,
