Walking by Faith with the Bread Basket
Two of the most difficult things about this experience of doing the weekly Bread Basket was my skepticism about Facebook and social media. I felt the pressure to increase my viewing audience, but my personal desire was to please my Heavenly Father. I’m not sure I found the balance. A second issue was the lack of a “live audience.”When I have taught in classrooms or at conferences, I watch my audiences’ expressions and respond to them. While FB had a built-in system to respond to those viewers who commented LIVE, I failed at developing a rhythm and was often frustrated that I couldn’t see their faces.
Despite these difficulties, doing the Bread Basket as a live video gave me many blessings:
The LORD met my needs consistently; He equipped me with everything I needed, including terrific helpers and people supporting me.
The LORD gave me a spirit of wisdom and creativity, as He did craftsman in the Old Testament.I enjoyed watching the Holy Spirit download ideas giving me “object lessons” or “visual aids.”
The LORD gave me a private “nick-name” early on, to help me know my role: simply “Seed-sower.”My responsibility was keeping my seed-bag full, and distributing seeds. That was all. It freed me from the worry of what happened to the seed.
The greatest blessing was hearing 50 sermons delivered to me personally by the Holy Spirit. As I asked for guidance on what to share, Holy Spirit would suggest the ideas and I learned and grew myself.
