This week we are looking at the acronym WAIT.  Today we look at A.A = accepting adversities:   After marriage, I faced adversity.  For the first decade of marriage, I gritted my teeth, getting used to the role of submissive wife to a farm boy.But after entering my mid thirties, having a son and a daughter, building a house from scratch, and starting a career,  I began to see a pattern with the adversities:  that if something “bad” happened, God always had different  and better plans.E.G. house fire > building the first storyBarn fire > recareerizingDelay in PH.D. acceptance > benefits from county, and then double internshipEmpty nest syndrome:  target of verbal and emotional abuse.   writing and publishing a historical novel.  Difficulties in my marriage.  Abuse escalated to physical abuse. I had to leave.> more understanding for my clients, and a more effective practice.Leaving Rick in 2010, House of Grace, and then the divorce 12/7/2012Accepting the adversity of a bike accident:  “God what are you going to do with this one?” > miracleMy most recent adversity took place last summer.  Story of  the scam.  I’m still learning how God’s going to use that. At a minimum, I have learned what a dynamic love relationship can be like.  And how I have to trust that vengeance and the handing out of Just Punishment is The Almighty’s responsibility.

Now you tell me, what adversities have you faced that have taught you the simple lesson of "Wait"?
