God’s Gift to You: His Rhema (Ray’ma)

Sit down. Place God’s gift on your lap and unwrap it.  As you lift the lid off you will feel very alive, as though kissed by the sun and misted with spring dew.  You will feel a breeze or even a gust of air waft over you.  This is the gift of Rhema, the living, active Word of God.Rhema comes from the Greek verb meaning "to pour forth.” The verb is used whenever the prophets spoke in ancient times.  It is the word used when Jesus spoke during his ministry.  Rhema can be heard only by those whom God has chosen, those who have a membership in the heavenly kingdom. (John 8:47)When one is converted, and washed by water to be made holy, the gift of Rhema is poured out.  Rhema connects a person with the sovereign God and kindles her faith. (Romans 10:17). It is the key to having the Spirit of God come upon someone, bringing her Holy Spirit power. (Acts.10:44)Rhema is the foundation of answered prayer (John 15:7). One’s intercession is strengthened when one uses the dynamic words of scripture while praying.Rhema is the sword of God, an effective and precise weapon used in spiritual battles. (Ephesians 6:10)Rhema sustains all things. (Heb.1:3)   Rhema strengthens a person and leads one forward on the difficult pathways of life.  Metaphorically, the gift transports a person on a ship to an important destination, or carries a person like a leaf blown forward by a gust of wind.  When Rhema “sustains” you, it is God prompting a revelation or fashioning an idea within your mind.Rhema is an invisible but sensational phenomenon. It puts one in touch with eternity, propels your soul deeper into kingdom activity, and endures forever.  (1Peter1:25)So savor the gift God has given you.  Read the Word, the very words on the page of your Bible. Then sit back and sense the Rhema.  Listen to the Holy Spirit reveal their meaning. You are receiving Rhema, the active, empowering tool in which God pours upon you the utterances of the Holy Spirit for His work in this world. In Christ,large-signature
