Transformation: Part Two What do you have to do to be transformed?

If your goal is to be transformed into the likeness of Christ, let us consider what you need to do.  How does transformation happen?I believe there are three basic attitudes needed to bring about your spiritual transformation:

•  A desire to surrender and let God do the working.  Perhaps this means you would say, “Holy Spirit, think through me, live through me, love through me.”

• A daily, moment-by-moment choice to put on the new self (Eph.4:22-24).  This involves abiding in Christ’s presence, letting the Heavenly Father remove the stones in your heart bit by bit, until there is a new heart devoted to Him.  In a nut-shell this means:  put your eyes on Jesus and don’t take them off Him.  His likeness will burn its way into you.

•  A conscious choice to resist the devil (1 Peter 5:9). The adversary wants to block your transformation. Gaining the victory is best done by putting on the Armor of God (Eph. 6).  You will need to become more adept at having dialogues with God about blocking Satan’s strategies.  You will need to pray in the Spirit, use your authority in Christ to rebuke and cast away spirits and other destructive activities from the Dark Side.
