Word of God: Part Four: S is for Saving Knowledge

S stands for the saving knowledge of God. That, in essence, is what the Bible is. We know that Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)   God gave us birth through the Word of truth. (James 1:18)Paul writes that the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those of us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor. 1:18. Without hearing the Word of God, one can not come into a personal relationship with Jesus.A marvelous promise is found in Isaiah 55:10-11: As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. When speaking to people, a Christ-one should remember this great promise and always have a word from the Bible to encourage, comfort, or guide the person. The Word will always have an impact.
